Circuit breakers

xPole PFIM Type AC, A, U, R residual current circuit breaker

Eaton offers a complete range of compact residual current devices for fault current/residual current and additional protection, suitable for residential and small commercial use.
Design according to
IEC/EN 61008
Rated short-circuit strength
10 kA
Available types
AC, A, U and R

Core features

  • Compatible with other P-series devices' standard busbar connection
  • Type -U: for speed-controlled drives with frequency converters (household, trade, industry)
  • Type -G: Highly reliable against unwanted tripping. Compulsory for circuits where personal injury or damage to property may occur
  • Twin-purpose terminal (lift/open-mouthed)
  • Universal tripping signal (red-green) switch, for PLS., PKN., Z-A., auxiliary switch Z-HK can be mounted subsequently
  • Delayed types for standard fluorescent tubes with/without electronical ballast (30mA: 30 units per phase, 100mA: 90 units per phase)
  • Tripping is line voltage-independent, RCD for “fault current/residual current protection”, “additional protection”
  • 4-pole device can also be used for 2- or 3-pole connection
  • Type -A, - G/A, -S/A: Protect against special forms of non-smoothed residual pulsating DC
  • Type -S: Selective AC-sensitive RCD, compulsory for systems with downstream surge arresters
  • Type -R: To avoid unwanted tripping due to X-ray devices
The following versions of the xPole PFIM RCCB are available:
Magnet motor electricity
Type A:
Protection against special forms of residual pulsating DC currents that have not been smoothed.

Type R:
Prevents nuisance tripping due to X-ray devices.

Type G:
High level of protection against nuisance tripping. Mandatory in circuits where nuisance tripping might cause personal injury or property damage.

Type S:
Selective residual current device for AC current monitoring

Type S/A:
Additional protection against special forms of residual pulsating DC currents that have not been smoothed.

Heathcare - medical
Type G/A:
Additional protection against special forms of residual pulsating DC currents that have not been smoothed. PFIM-...-R special types for X-ray applications.
Type U:
Suitable for use with variable speed drives in household, commercial and industrial applications. This tripping characteristic has been  specifically designed for use with frequency converters to prevent nuisance tripping.

Reliable protection for machines

These products help maintain an optimal system and provide additional protection against residual earth leakage currents for a wide range of applications. They come with different tripping characteristics to cater for a variety of electrical systems and components. The devices offer a wide range of nominal currents and comprehensive optional accessories.

Type of protection

Since tripping does not depend on the mains voltage, this RCD is suitable for “fault current/residual current protection” as well as “additional protection” within the meaning of the applicable standards.
